Puri: Months after being released from the jail in much hyped casting couch case, standup comedian and Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pom Pom again landed in fresh trouble after giving controversial remark against Lord Jagannath and goddess Tulsi on the concluding day of the three-day beach festival here.

Even though the actor apologised for such statement on stage after some servitors, devotees and audience protested against him, the Jagannath Sena, an outfit fighting for the protection of Jagannath culture, lodged a complaint today at Sea Beach police station demanding his arrest.

“He has insulted Lord Jagannath and Maa Brundabati (Tulsi plant), which is offered to the Lord. This is a grave insult to lakhs of Jagannath lovers and Hindu cult. His remark has hurt religious sentiment of the Hindus. A complaint has been registered with police today. He should be arrested under section 295, 295 (B), 297 and 298 of IPC”, Sena convenor Priyadarshan Patnaik said.

The sena activists, who burnt effigies of the comic actor near Swargadwar raising slogans against him, also demanded that he must prostrate before Singhadwar and beg excuse.

For the sake of fun, the actor had said on the Stage that Tulsi plant, on which dog urinates is offered to Lord Jagannath. “Who prays Lord Jagannath, he would take rebirth as canine. Because, Tulsi is offered to the Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Lord Vishnu after dog grants it”, Papu had said satirically.

The remark had invited stiff criticism from the audience, who forced the popular actor to apologise on Stage.
The comic actor was arrested in June on charge of sexually harassing a minor girl after promising to give her a break in films. He was arrested from Puri on June 30 following a complaint lodged by Bhubaneswar based NGO- Friends Foundation- at Mahila police station.

However, he was released from jail after High Court granted him conditional bail on August 10.
