Panic after fire breaks out in Angul hospital

Angul: Panic gripped patients and relatives after fire broke out in Maternity and Child Healthcare (MCH) building inside Angul district head quarters hospital in the wee hours on Sunday.

Though no casualty was reported, it had created a flutter with patients and their attendants as the incident occured at around 4:30 am today.
It is suspected that the fire was caused to an electric short-circuit while the situation was brought to control by timely action by the personnel of the local fire services department.

" The women and attendants came out of the building with their children admitted to the centre after some noticed smoke coming out in the building," Ganesh Das, an eye-witness.

Das further alleged the security guards had taken the issue lightly after we brought the incident to thier notice.
