Bhubaneswar: BJP leader Jayaram Pangi today demanded a judicial inquiry into disappearance of the Bonda student Rama Chandra Mandra of Dantipara in Malkangiri district, who was studying at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).

In a Facebook post, Pangi asked the State government what steps it would take for a judicial inquiry into the incident.

“Bonda tribes had been neglected and there is no improvement in their condition till date. Otherwise the educational institution would not have been silent even after three years of disappearance of the Bonda student. The State government is trying to shield the educational institution,” his post read.

Mother of Ram Chandra, who has been missing since 2015, yesterday lodged a complaint with the Mudulipara police in Malkangiri district.

While the family members allege that Rama Chandra didn’t return home from the school, the institute authorities claim that the student had gone home during the summer vacations and did not come back.

“A complaint has been registered as per the family’s version that the KISS student Rama Chandra has been missing for the last three years. We will start our investigation soon,” said Mudulipara Police Station in-charge, Prasant Nichika.

Meanwhile CEO of KISS, Pramod Kumar Patra said that the family never informed them about their missing child.
