Bolangir: Simultaneous raids were conducted today by the State Vigilance at five places associated with Padiabahal panchayat executive officer Tapan Meher on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.

Five teams led by Bolangir Vigilance DSP Parameswar Kisan carried out the searches at the panchayat executive officer’s house located at Kutumunda, his father-in-law’s house in Patnagarh and three other places.

The sleuths also seized Tapan’s bank passbook, gold jewellery, a truck, two tractors, a car and three bikes.

Kisan said vigilance officials of Sonepur, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Jharsuguda conducted the raids.
