Paika Rebellion glory at Patha Utsav

Bhubaneswar: The glorious legacy of Paika Rebellion took centre stage during the Patha Utsav celebrations here at Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The Odia warriors (Paikas) from Khurda presented their traditional ‘martial arts’ skills as part of the Bicentenary Celebrations of Paika Rebellion.

The martial dancers first showcased their precision with the swords and later presented an episode from Mahabharata which was much appreciated by the spectators who attended the Patha Utsav in large numbers despite heavy rains that lashed the city here.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) claimed that the Patha Utsav has generated huge response from residents while the turnout at the last event was also satisfactory.
