Bhubaneswar: More than 6 lakh students in Odisha will appear for the Annual HSC Examination 2018 beginning tomorrow. The examinations will continue till March 8.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has made all the necessary arrangements for the examination.

Three tier-security has been put in place to prevent malpractice. Around 58 flying squads and 37 central squads of the board have been constituted to maintain vigilance and ensure smooth examination, informed sources. Similarly, to stop malpractice, teachers have also been included in the squads.

As many as 6, 08,031 students will appear for the examination at 2,818 centres across the state. A total of 302 nodal centres have been set up to store question papers.

Students will have to report at the examination centres by 8 AM and OMR sheets will be distributed at 8.15 AM. Examinees will get the question and answer booklet at 8.45 AM and after 15 minutes of extra time, the examination will begin at 9 AM.

On the other hand security has been tightened at sensitive examination centres in Maoist infested districts like Koraput, Malkangiri, Bolangir, Raygada, Gajpati, Kandhamal, Boudh and Deogarh.

BSE president Jahan Ara Begum said the question papers and other materials for the first three papers have already been despatched to all the 302 nodal centres. 24 hour surveillance is being done to avoid any eventualities like leakage of question papers.

“At 24 nodal centres set up in police stations, question papers will be sent in the morning just before the examination amid tight security,” she said.
