Bhubaneswar: At least 5,90,330 students will write the annual High School Certificate Examination at 2,818 exam centres this year, the Board of Secondary Education informed today.

Nearly 5,67,254 students will appear in the regular category while around 19,737 ex-regular students will write the examinations. Similarly, 3,334 students will appear the exam for correspondence course.

The board informed that a total of 302 nodal centres have been identified for safe storage of question papers.

The matriculation examination will kick off from February 23, 2018. The online filling up of forms for the Matric examination was completed in November 2017.

After four years, the School and Mass Education department has made some changes to the examination structure. In a bid to stop malpractice students will not take the board examination in their respective schools. Students will have to write their exams at examinations centres (another school) within five kms of their own school.
