Bhubaneswar: Praising the commendable efforts of famous woman farmer Kamala Pujari in the field of conserving landraces of rice, chief minister Naveen Patnaik today named the newly-built women's hostel of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) after her name.

While attending the event organised by OUAT to lay the foundation stone of several research centres and other projects in its premises, Patnaik felicitated the 67-year-old Pujari present on the occasion.

"I am happy that Kamala Pujari, the tribal woman farmer, has led the way to other farmers in our State," said Patnaik.

Pujari has received several national and international awards like Krusi Bisarada Samman and the Equator Initiative Award, to name a few.
