OTV impact: Public Health dept inspects Balasore Omfed plant

Balasore: A day after OTV published a report on the unhygienic conditions at the Omfed Plant in Balasore district, a team of the Public Health Department today carried out a thorough inspection of the manufacturing unit.

According to sources, the team collected samples of different dairy products manufactured at the unit for inspection in laboratory.

The department will take further action based on the reports of the samples, said an official.

In an exclusive report, OTV had found that bottling and labeling at Balasore dairy plant of Omfed are carried out by workers with bare hands. It had also found that milk and other milk products like curd and ghee are stored in shabby containers raising quality concerns.
