Balasore: Two days after an exclusive OTV report over unhygienic processing of dairy products at a manufacturing unit of Omfed in Balasore, the plant authorities today transferred the manager of the unit.

The report created a public outcry raising concerns over product quality following which a team of the Public Health Department carried out a thorough inspection of the manufacturing unit earlier on Thursday.

It collected samples of various dairy products and also inspected the working conditions inside the plant. The laboratory reports of the samples are awaited and necessary actions will be taken based on its findings, informed sources.

In an exclusive report, OTV had found that bottling and labelling at Balasore dairy plant of Omfed are carried out by workers with bare

hands. It had also found that milk and other dairy products like curd and ghee are stored in shabby containers.
