OTV Impact: Malkangiri residential school headmaster suspended

Malkangiri: Taking immediate action against irregularity in student welfare schemes in schools, Malkangiri Collector today suspended Headmaster Sukant Rout of Sorisamal Sevashram under Sadar police limits for serving only salt and rice to students in dinner.

According to reports, despite availability of sufficient food stock, the students were served only salt and rice in dinner by the school authority. It is alleged that some students used to starve without getting food many a time.

After the incident was first aired on OTV, the district administration initiated an investigation. The district welfare officer reviewed the situation in the school and asked the school administration for a report.

As per reports, even though there are 260 students in the school, the quantity of food items like dal, curry during dinner gets used up after serving just around 60 students while the rest make do with rice and salt only.
