Bhubaneswar: The strive of the Odisha government has begun as the conjoined twins of Milipada village under Phiringia block of Kandhamal district would be sent  to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi for treatment tomorrow.

With the state and district governments providing all sorts of assistance, the couple's bid to separate their babies is likely to get possible as they head to AIIMS for a life changing surgery.

According to sources, the babies, Honey and Singha, along with their parents were brought to Phiringia Community Health Centre yesterday and after a night halt there, they were brought to Bhubaneswar from where they are expected to board the Rajdhani Express on Thursday.

Also, National Youth Health Programme Assistant Manager Soumya Samantaray and one Ayush doctor from Nuapada Primary Health Centre would be accompanying the family until the surgery is completed.

While the district administration has provided an assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the family of the conjoined twins, the district patients’ welfare committee has provided Rs 25000 for their treatment. Apart from this, the State Health Department has assured to facilitate their treatment and bear all the expenses of the family.
