Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Thursday, ordered that Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB) director can be removed only by the Cooperative Registrar.

While hearing a petition moved by the bank’s director Mahendra Nayak, the court in its final verdict said managing director and president have no role in removal of a director.

Earlier, acting as per the directive of president, the bank’s managing director had issued show-cause notice to Mahendra Naik and other officials asking them why they should not be sacked for dereliction in duty.

Later challenging the show-cause notice, Mahendra had knocked the doors of the court.
