Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch on Monday stated that a list of Odia film actors has already been prepared for interrogation in connection with Oscar chit fund scam.
According to sources, the CB police has elicited some important information from Oscar chit fund chief Prabhas Rout in the course of interrogation.
A team comprising 5 DSPs has been formed to question the film actors who are suspected to be involved in the crime, sources added.
The EOW officials got to know that some actors had taken luxurious cars and flats from Rout when they were working with film projects produced under the tainted firm.
Besides, Rout had invested peoples’ hard earned money in a water park near Phulnakhara on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
Two days ago, veteran Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty and comedian Papu Pom Pom had said they are ready to face interrogation by the agency if needed.
Notably, Prabhas Chandra Rout was arrested by Crime Branch officials from a temple at Hauz Khas area in New Delhi on June 10 on the charge of duping people of Rs 230 crore.
