Orissa HC gets one more permanent judge

Cuttack: Justice S N Prasad was sworn in as a permanent judge of Orissa High Court here today.

Chief Justice Vineet Saran administered the oath of office to Justice Prasad inside the High Court premises in presence of several members of the bench and bar.

Justice Prasad, a native of neighbouring Jharkhand, was elevated to the bench of Jharkhand High Court as an additional judge in September 2014 and he was transferred here in the same capacity in March last year.

With this, Orissa High Court now has 16 permanent judges (including the Chief Justice) and three additional judges against the sanctioned strength of 17 permanent judges and five additional judges.
