Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik today lambasted the State government on the completion of four years of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's fourth term in office.

Niranjan alleged that the government has not done any good to Odisha rather destroyed it. The government had given many hopes to people but has failed miserably in fulfilling any of those.

"There has been an increase in unemployment and farmers' woes, no development is visible in the condition of Tribals and Dalits in State, women in State are not secure and most of the industries have shut down," said Niranjan.

The silence of the government on Mahanadi issue from the year 2000 to 2015 has pushed nearly 2 crore people to the brink, he added.

Taking a jibe at the Rs 1 per kg rice scheme, Niranjan said the government thinks that people of Odisha will be content with whatever less is given to them. Both the Centre and State are not concerned for people of Odisha as they are busy in organising publicity stunts like rallies and abhiyans.  Giving example of the rally held after CM Patnaik received the Best Administrator Award, he said, these are political gimmicks only and not of any benefit to people.
