Bhubaneswar: Odisha MPs have shown a dismal performance in Lok Sabha with only one, out of 21 MPs, scoring cent percent attendance.

As per the report published by PRS Legislative Research, Jagatsinghpur MP Kulamani Samal is the only legislator who has scored 100% attendance.

Among others, Aska MP Ladu Kishore Swain and Balasore’s Rabindra Kumar Jena have 95% attendance while Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda and Siddhant Mohapatra representing Berhampur have scored 80% and 67% attendance respectively.

BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda, who is presently in jail due to his alleged involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam, made the worst performance with only 14% presence.

Sambalpur MP Nagendra Pradhan has raised 476 questions in the lower house in the last three years. He is followed by his own party leaders- Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, 403, and Baijayant Panda, 399. However, BJD MLA Siddhant Mohapatra has not raised a single question in Lok Sabha.

Besides, Panda has moved the maximum number of Private Members Bill in the LS. While the Kendrapara MP introduced 20 Bills, Mahatab tabled 18.

Meanwhile, Bhairon Prasad Mishra, the BJP MP from Banda, Uttar Pradesh, has 100% attendance record with participation in a total of 1,468 debates and discussions. As per the PRS report, in the last three years, Sonia Gandhi participated in mere five debates while Rahul Gandhi took part in only 11 debates.
