Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Ananta Sethi has stirred up a hornet’s nest by hailing Niranjan Patnaik as the right candidate for the next president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

“There has already been a delay and now only Niranjan can save Congress in Odisha. This is also the view of nearly 80 to 90 percent members in the party,” said Sethi, before leaving for New Delhi on Sunday.

Apart from Sethi, leader of opposition Narasingha Mishra and Niranjan Patnaik left for New Delhi today. Though it is believed that the leaders will meet AICC leaders, both leaders claimed that they are visiting New Delhi for personal work.

“I have not been called by AICC and my visit is not at all political,” said Mishra.

Sethi claimed that as per the schedule of the central election authority, the election for organisational restructuring is on and the entire process will be completed by October 24.
