One-sided love affair: Youth held for killing minor girl

Khurda: A youth was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stabbing to death a minor girl over unrequited love at Annapurnanagar under Balugaon police limits in Khurda district on Saturday.

The accused R. Gopi reportedly attacked the girl when she was returning home after completing her work at a tailoring shop in the village yesterday.

It is suspected that Gopi attacked the girl with knife in a fit of rage after she snubbed his love advances.

Though the girl was then shifted to Berhampur, she succumbed to her injures later at the hospital.

Following the incident, Khurda SP reached the spot and special teams were formed to nab the prime accused.

Senior police officials informed that blood stained clothes of the accused and the murder weapon has also been recovered and further investigation in connection with the incident is on.
