Kendrapara: Two persons of Kendrapara were detained today in connection with blackmailing a girl and making an objectionable video of her viral on social media.
Tolerating torture for months, the girl finally knocked the door of Derabish police here and lodged a complaint against the accused for making the video and releasing it on social media.
As per sources, the girl was in a relationship with one Soumyaranjan Behera following which the youth forced her to maintain a physical relationship with him and subsequently took pictures and shot a video during their intimate moments.
Later, showing this video, Behera allegedly kept blackmailing the girl and forced her to have sex with him several times.
This apart, the youth threatened to make the video viral on social media and kill her family members if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
Going through this phase of physical and mental torture, the girl had even attempted to commit suicide thrice. But even after all her protests, the youth did not stop making their objectionable video viral.
“We were in a relationship. Subsequently he took intimate pictures and videos and later kept on blackmailing me. He threatens me always and had warned me that he will throw acid on me. He and his friends keep on calling me to say that they would kill me and then use vulgar language. They always misbehave with me,” the girl alleged.
She added, “Because of all this torture I have attempted suicide many times. I also loved him very much. Now after all this, I want him to go on his way and allow me to go my way. I want justice, nothing else.”
Based on the complaint filed by the girl, Derabish police has detained two youths and is interrogating them. Further investigation is on, sources said.
