One minor drowns, another missing while bathing in Brahmani

Rourkela: A minor boy drowned while one more boy went missing while taking bath in the Brahmani river near Panposh today.

The deceased has been identified as Pradyut Barik, a resident of the Chhend colony.

The incident occurred when four minor boys went to the river to take bath. Suddenly, the river water current swept away the four children.

After receiving information, fire personnel and police reached the spot and rescued one of the boys, Panchanan Behera. The rescued boy was admitted to hospital and his condition is stated to be stable. One more boy managed to swim ashore whereas the two others were pulled into water by the river current. Though the dead body of one of them was found, till the filing of this report, rescue operations were on to trace the fourth boy.
