One killed, two hurt in freak mishap

Nabarangpur: A labourer died on the spot and two others were seriously injured while they were unloading glass panels from a truck near Goramunda bandh on the outskirts of Nabarangpur town today.

Reports said three labourers were seriously injured when a set of glass panels placed on the truck fell on them during unloading this morning.

The three injured labourers were rushed to the Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital where one of them, identified as Tula Harijan, was declared brought dead.

Briefing media persons about the incident, Dr Priya Ranjan Bahali of district headquarters hospital said of the two injured, Raghu Harijan (26) had sustained deep cut and injuries on his left leg while the other labourer Raghu Harijan (18) had sustained injuries on his chest.

"We have referred these two injured labourers to Koraput district headquarters hospital after primary treatment,” he said.
