Jajpur/Puri: One person was killed and three injured in two separate bombing cases in Jajpur and Puri districts late last night.

While two youths were returning home on a bike, some miscreants hurled a bomb at the bikers near Singharpur in Binjharpur of Jajpur district.

The deceased, identified as Abhimanyu Das, succumbed to his injuries at the Jajpur district hospital whereas the person riding pillion is critical and has been shifted to the SCB hospital in Cuttack from the district hospital.

The local police initiated a probe and suspected past enmity or political angle to be the reason behind the bombing.

In Puri, two bike borne miscreants hurled two bombs targeting a cloth store located at the Market Chhak last night. Two staff of the store, who were shutting the shop, got injured in the bombing.

While fleeing the spot, the bike borne miscreants hurled another bomb on the Bagala Dharmasala road which caused injuries to a gupchup vendor.

The Kumbharapada police reached the spot and questioned the shop owner to a get lead in the incident. The police believe extortion could be one of the reasons behind the bomb hurling.
