One killed, one injured in tusker attack in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: One person was killed and another sustained critical injuries in an elephant attack at Champua area in the district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Premananda Nayak of Dolita village under Champua forest range.

According to sources, the incident took place when Nayak and Benudhar Behera had gone to Rajia forest to collect mushroom.

A tusker in the forest attacked the duo killing Nayak on the spot. Behera sustained serious injuries in the attack and admitted to Keonjhar hospital, sources added.
