One dies in accident; locals torch oil tanker in Bhuban

Dhenkanal: Tension ran high in Bhuban area of Dhenkanal district last night as some angry locals torched an oil tanker that had caused an accident leading to the death of a youth in evening.

Sources said an oil tanker had dashed a motorcycle at Palas Pithia under Bhubana police limits in Dhenkanal district last evening. Bike rider Pinku Mahapatra was critically injured in the accident. Though he was rushed to the Bhuban Hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

Angry over death of the youth, the locals staged a road blockade on NH-53 and torched the tanker.
