Bhubaneswar: Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) has hiked the price of its Premium Milk, by Rs 2 per litre. The revised rates will come to force from today.

While earlier the price of the product was Rs 38 per litre, it will now cost Rs 40 per litre from today. However, the price of Toned Milk remains unchanged.

According to OMFED officials, the price has been hiked in view of the hike in power tariff from today and other operational costs for production.

The Public Relation Officer of OMFED, Subash Tripathy informed media persons, "The preparation of Premium Milk costs more and there is also high concentration of SNF (Solid Not Fat). Hence it has been decided to increase the price of Premium Milk which was earlier sold at Rs 38 per litre has been hiked to Rs 40 from today."
