Bhubaneswar:  Uber and Ola cabs would not be seen on the roads of the capital city for an indefinite period, for the drivers of the two taxi companies have resorted to a strike protesting reduction in their earning caused by falling incentives.

The cab drivers, who used to get hefty incentives in the earlier days, alleged that both the ride-hailing companies have cut down on driver incentives. The companies that had been giving incentives on each trip are now providing the same on the basis of various packages.

“The drivers are trying hard to earn incentives by increasing the number of rides, but in vain. As a result, they are incurring heavy loss and not being able to repay loans too,” alleged a driver.

The drivers warned that they would continue their stir unless and until they get proper incentives.
