Bhubaneswar: Despite inclement weather, students queued up before several examination centres to appear for the Odisha Joint Examination (OJEE) 2018 since early morning on Sunday.

As many as 48,317 students had enrolled for the OJEE seeking admissions into undergraduate courses in engineering & technology (lateral entry), pharmacy, postgraduate course like MBA, MCA, (lateral entry) MCA, MTECH, MPlan, MARCH, MPHARM and Integrated MBA (5 years) in Universities and government colleges.

The first sitting began at 9 am and the second sitting examination is scheduled to start at 2 pm at the predefined centres across the State.

The online application process for the test had started from January 31 and the candidates had submitted their applications by March 20.

The candidates were asked by the authorities to report before the examination centres nearly 30 minutes before the start of the test today.

Clear instructions were also issued that no items other than pen and admit cards will be allowed inside the examination halls, official sources said.

"As per the schedule, we had reached the examination centre at around 8 am braving the bad weather. However, we are happy over the measures undertaken by the authorities for the smooth conduct of the test," said an aspirant from Jharkhand.
