Oil tanker, truck catch fire in Angul

Angul: An oil tanker caught fire after it collided with a truck head-on at Nakachi in Angul in the wee hours on Saturday. The drivers and other staff of both the vehicles escaped unhurt with minor injuries in the accident.

Sources said, the accident occurred in front of a road side dhaba on NH- 55 at around 5: 30 am today.

The oil tanker was on its way to Sambalpur when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the vehicle, sources said.

Two teams of local fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The situation was brought under control after a two-hour operation.

However, vehicular traffic on the National Highway was also adversely affected due to the accident.
