Oil tanker trafficking ganja seized in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: An oil tanker trafficking ganja from Mathili in the district to Chhattisgarh was seized by the police today.

Acting on a tip off police pulled over the tanker at Malkangiri bus stand and found nearly 100 sacks of ganja in it. Three persons were held in this connection.

The value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs 1 crore, said police. There were also some small packets of the contraband in the container that will sum up to nearly 200 sacks of ganja which may amount to crores.

While this is not the first time that Malkangiri police was successful in busting such a racket, it was the biggest success achieved till date. Two months earlier police had held few kanwariyas trafficking ganja from Mathili, said police sources.
