Guntur: Odisha athletes continue to shine at the 57th Inter State National Athletics Championships underway in Guntur with Purnima Hembram clinching a gold medal and Jauna Murmu grabbing a silver today. Odisha has overall won three gold medals and two silver medals so far at the event.

Purnima won the 100 m women's hurdles clocking 13.72 s. Jauna on the other hand emerged second with a timing of 53.52 s behind Kerala's Anilda Thomas who won gold clocking 53.20 s.

Earlier, Jauna had clinched a silver in 400 m women’s hurdles event with a timing of 58.68 sec. Also, Amiya Kumar Mallick, who had failed to grab any medal at the recently concluded Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, had bagged gold in the men’s 200m run with a lap time of 21.65s while Asian Athletics bronze medallist Srabani Nanda clinched gold in women’s 200 m sprint event with a timing of 24.18s.
