Bhubaneswar: Odisha government, on Monday, announced that land registration fee will be done through cashless system from next month.

Speaking on the initiative of the government, State Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty said the government want to convert the whole process to online. “Till then, land registration process will be done cashless from September 1,” said Mohanty.

“In case of any difficulty related to the e-payment, one can submit demand draft and cheques,” he said.

Mohanty further added that Revenue Inspectors across the State have been directed to hold "Lok Adalat" on second Saturday and Sunday of every month to reduce the inconvenience being faced by people during land mutation and conversion.

It is worth mentioning that the government believes the new cashless process will reduce the number of unlawful disposal of immovable property.
