Odisha to fill 20,000 SC & ST posts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government will shortly initiate measures for filling up the 20,000 posts reserved for SC and ST categories lying vacant in several departments.

At a high level review meeting held on Saturday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the employment commissions of the state to come up with annual examination calendar within a month.

Patnaik also took stock of the progress made on employments across various departments and asked concerned officials to expedite timely recruitment.

Sources said, the government has also asked officials to take necessary steps to resolve disputes pertaining to employment that are currently sub-judice in various courts.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the chief minister also directed secretaries of all departments to make field visit to districts and apprise him directly about the progress of various welfare projects undertaken by the State government.
