Bhubaneswar: In a bid to attract investors to Odisha in the wake of the new start-up policy formulated by the government, a team led by Industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra has left for the United States of America to attend the Global Conference.

The team will be discussing investment prospects in Odisha in the field of Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Manufacturing with the delegates of various countries. On the team’s agenda will be highlighting the various industry-friendly policy initiatives like the e-biz portal, the new Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR), the new start up policy etc.

According to sources, the team from Odisha will apprise the prospective investors from various countries about the opportunities and the benefits of investing in the State. The team, which will participate in the conference from May 4 to May 7, comprises top level officers of Industries and IT department, OCAC and IDCO. Moreover, some investors from Odisha will also participate in the conference.

“Our aim is to showcase the opportunities offered by Odisha, especially in the field of IT and ESDM sectors. Moreover, we will also highlight the steps taken towards industrial policy facilitation. This is a very good platform for us and we have been given more time as compared to other states from India,” said Debi Prasad Mishra.

“A lot of successful entrepreneurs participate in the conference. They will interact and hold discussions on various topics and will also apprise investors of various opportunities available in new geographies,” said Odisha head of The Indus Entrepreneurs, Rajib Sahu.

The team from Odisha is also scheduled to visit the Stanford University and Facebook office.
