Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today relaxed the requirement of residential certificates for various purposes. A meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi has decided to stick with the requirement of residential certificates only for scholarships, technical education, medical education and government jobs. Rest of the cases where residential certificates were mandatory will henceforth not require the same.

Similarly, if any instance of fake residential certificates being used is found out, strict action should be initiated, informed Revenue department secretary Chandrasekhar Kumar.

“We will rationalise the practice of seeking residential certificates from students. Residential certificates will only be sought for scholarships, technical education, medical education and government jobs,” said Kumar.
