Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday proposed a special industrial park for Italian investors helping them set up industries in the State.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made this offer during his meeting with Consul General of Italy Damiano Francovigh here at the State secretariat.

As per reports, during the meeting, the CM proposed creation of a special industrial park in the State for Italian companies who can set up textile, auto industries and chemical plants.

“We discussed a wide range of issues to strengthen ties between Odisha and Italy. Invited Italian industries to take advantage of our vibrant business ecosystem & policies & make Odisha their manufacturing base in India,” Patnaik tweeted.

Patnaik also proposed a round table meeting with the CEOs of Italian companies at the Make-In-Odisha Conclave scheduled to be held in November, 2018.

Besides, through the Consul General, Patnaik invited a delegation of Italian industries to visit Odisha.

Francovigh, on his part, praised Odisha's growth in industries and trade, an official statement issued by the chief minister's office said, adding that Italian companies would be interested to set up their units in Odisha.
