Bhubaneswar: Festival of colours Holi was also celebrated with enthusiasm by politicians in the State with grand functions organised by activists in their respective party offices.

Most excitement was seen in the BJP party office. Delighted upon the results of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the party celebrated Holi in a very pompous way. Senior leaders of the party enjoyed the festival with many party activists.

BJP State President Basant Panda, talking to media persons said, "There is no dispute between anybody, we are all united and today on the occassion of Holi and Dola Purnima we have become one. Being one we have to take oath at Assembly for development of society excluding discrimination on basis of party, belief, caste and colour."

Similarly Holi was celebrated by Congress at Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Many senior leaders and party activists gathered there exchanged sweets among them and expressed Holi greetings.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Prasad Harichandan celebrating Holi with blind children said, "The festival has great importance in our social lives, it is a festival of enjoyment, of togetherness, of colours, of happiness which we are celebrating with the children. There is nothing more cheerful than this that we are able to play Holi with the children who are unable to see the colours."

On the other hand BJD has also celebrated Holi. Veteran BJD leader and Excise Minister Damodar Rout enjoyed the festival with party activists.

Rout wished happiness for all saying, "This Holi festival may bring happiness for all and they may be involved in rare love by forgetting jealously and living as friends. May any natural calamity not strike us, is my prayer near the Lord on the occasion of Holi."
