Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall coupled with strong surface wind is likely to lash several parts of Odisha tomorrow due to a low pressure in the neighbourhood.

Yesterday's well marked low pressure area over coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood now lies over north Coastal part of the state and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh and Telangana, the meteorological centre here said today.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards in height, it said.

Under its impact, rain or thundershower is likely to occur at most places over Odisha during next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over interior Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places over districts of coastal Odisha during next 24 hours, it said.

Strong gusty surface wind from southeasterly direction with speed reaching 35-45 KMPH and gusting to 55 KMPH would prevail along and off Odisha Coast.

Sea condition would be moderate to rough and fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, the MeT office said.
