Bhubaneswar: The incident of an IAS official sending obscene texts and videos to a female OAS officer that shook the third floor of the Secretariat is again hitting the headlines after the intervention of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) into the matter.

The PMO has sent a letter to the Chief Secretary of the State and directed to keep the OAS officer updated about details of the developments in the case and upload a copy of the same on its website.

Meanwhile, the female officer along with her mother today appeared before the Odisha State Commission for Women. She had earlier approached the women's commission in connection with the incident.

The OAS officer alleged that the current IAS official and director of agricultural marketing, Odisha, Premananda Khuntia allegedly sent obscene pics and video on mobile.

"The women's commission had called us in relation to the case. We are hopeful of getting justice," said the mother of the OAS officer.

However, Khuntia refused to talk in front of OTV stating that the case is sub judice. It is worth mentioning that the IAS officer has filed a defamation suit of Rs 1 crore against the woman.

As per reports, the female OAS officer had first brought the matter to the notice of the higher authorities who conducted an internal inquiry and referred the matter to the police for investigation.

She then lodged a complaint on October 10, 2015 following which the Commissionerate Police arrested Khuntia on charges of sending objectionable texts and videos on WhatsApp to his colleague. Later, Khuntia got bail.
