Bhubaneswar: As a new year gift to the house surgeons of State-run medical colleges and hospitals, Odisha government today announced a hike in their monthly stipend from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.

The hike will be effective retrospectively from April 1, 2017.
The house surgeons working at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur will now get the renewed stipend of Rs. 20,000 a month, informed Health Minister Pratap Jena.
