Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education department has decided to increase the intake capacity of Junior Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools in rural and tribal areas across Odisha by 10 percent for the 2017-18 academic session.

A notification issued by the I&PR department said the hike in intake will be applicable for all except the Junior government colleges.

Besides, students who had slided-up during the admission process and failed to take admission in the colleges of their higher option will also be given another chance to get themselves into the colleges of their choice.

As many as 3,401 students who were barred from taking admission due to auto-sliding have been advised to move to higher option colleges and take admission on or before 19th August, the notification said.
