Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today decided to include 47 projects under Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY) in a bid to enhance the income of farmers.

The decision was taken during state level sanctioning committee meeting of RKVY, presided by chief secretary AP Padhi.

"About 50 project proposals were examined at the meeting of which 47 projects, involving investment of around Rs 150 crore, were sanctioned by the chief secretary," state Agriculture secretary Manoj Ahuja said.

The project that were sanctioned are crop insurance, support system with technology application, setting up of state bio pesticide laboratory, renovation of seed testing laboratory, e-paste surveillance and management of vegetable crop and setting up of biological control laboratory.

Establishment of mini soil testing laboratory, alternate seed system for rain fed crops, development of tanks and ponds for intensive aquaculture are among other projects that were sanctioned.

The RKVY was started in 2007-08 in Odisha and 615 projects have been implemented so far under the scheme.
