Bhubaneswar: Norms for withdrawal from the General Provident Fund (GPF) were relaxed by the Odisha government for its employees while making amendments to the General Provident Fund Rules (Odisha), 1938, on Tuesday.

As per the Finance department’s official notification, the State government staff can withdraw the GPF amount partly or fully after completion of 10 years of service as against 20 years of service earlier.

Within 30 days of applying for the GPF withdrawal, a State government staff can get the amount, according to the new provisions notified by the Finance department.

However, in case of emergency cases such as illness, an employee will get the amount in 10 days after submission of application for a provident fund withdrawal.
