Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone for construction of a Haj House at Pokhariput here for Haj pilgrims.

The Haj House that would provide short stay facilities to pilgrims of the minority community will be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.39 crore. Besides, Patnaik inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several other projects in the capital city today.

The CM unveiled a Command Centre And Control Room for the Special Armed Police constructed at Rs 7.50 crore and a new office building of the Economic Offences Wing and Special Task Force, which has been set up at a cost of Rs 15 crore.

Besides, Patnaik inaugurated a 530-seater girls’ hostel and a 600-seater boys’ hostel at the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) in Bhubaneswar, constructed at Rs 23.50 crore and 21.39 crore, respectively.

This apart, 12 Chilka Fresh centres and 12 Fish-on-Wheels mobile vans were also launched by the CM.
