Odisha boy Pitobash Tripathy, who has cemented a place for himself in Bollywood with major roles in many films, will be seen in Sridevi’s upcoming film Mom. The actor who was seen in a prominent role in Hollywood film Million Dollar Arm, is also playing a lead in a French-Belgian film that is all set to release soon. Pitobash is also playing a main character in an American sitcom.

Last seen in the periodic film Begum Jaan, Pitobash is excited for the release of Mom. He cherished working with veteran actress Sridevi as well as ace actor Nawazuddin Siddique, who he better knows as a neighbour.

“Nawaz bhai is a very dear friend and we have known each other for 8-9 years now. With him I had a comfort zone already but of course working together for the first time was very special. Working with Sridevi who has 50 years of dedication behind her was an experience where I got to learn immensely. What an amazing actor she is! Her professionalism and passion is absolutely inspiring,” said the actor known for his impressive performances in 3 Idiots, Shor In The City, Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobara, I Am Kalam and so on.

His other major project, 7 Jours Pars Plus, a French and Belgian film will hit theatres in August this year. The film has two lead characters of which Pitobash is one.

“It is a road trip movie. I’m playing a Bengali and the other person is French. The story is about how these two strangers are stuck together and though they don’t understand each others’ language, the weeklong trip reinvents their lives. The role was exciting and super challenging because just as the film shows I actually could not understand much of French my co-actor was speaking,” shared Pitobash.

Million Dollar Arm was a bigger Hollywood movie with a bigger unit and hence an amazing experience, the upcoming movie is special as the smaller unit was more chilled out and the pressure was less, said the actor. The film was shot in Brussels and Paris and will first be released in Europe in August and later in US and UK after which a worldwide release is slotted.

The Odia boy who completed his engineering in Kolkata where he got involved in theatre and started his acting career has found and agent in Hollywood, which he says is the toughest part and the most important for actors pursuing roles in Hollywood movies.

“It was difficult to find an agent but now that I have one, it is easier to get roles in Hollywwod movies,” said Pitobash who will also be seen in a sitcom Metropark that is a story of an Indian- American family residing in US. Other actors featuring in the sitcom are Ranvir Shorey, Omy Vaidya, Purbi Joshi,Vega Tamotia and so on.

The actor also has his hands full with projects in Bollywood like T for Tajmahal by director Kireet Khurana that also features Raveena Tandona and another movie by Anupam Kher.

Pitobash presently switches between Mumbai and Los Angeles. Yet, he finds time to visit Odisha.

“I had been to Odisha only last month. Though I pay short visits to my home state, this is the first time in three years I spent a long time with family and friends,” he said.
