Bhubaneswar: The fortnight-long monsoon session of Odisha Assembly beginning September 7 is likely to witness uproar over the Mahanadi river water dispute with Chhattisgarh.

Police firing at Gumudumaha village in Kandhamal and death of children allegedly due to malnutrition at Nagada village in Jajpur district are also likely to feature at the session, which will continue till September 21.

Some important bills including GST, Odia Official Language Rule, 2016 are likely to figure in this session, a notification issued by Assembly Secretariat said.

The Assembly issued the notification after Governor S C Jamir approved a proposal in this regard submitted by the state parliamentary affairs department.
