Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the first Odisha Art Conclave-2016 being organised by Ila Panda Centre for Arts (IPCA)in the capital city on Monday.

As many as 40 eminent artisans of the state showcased their creative paintings at the two-day long conclave. The chief minister inaugurated an Odia book ‘Mo Jibanare Rupa ra Prabhaba’ during the occasion.

Besides, the chief minister also felicitated two rural artisans - Bhanu Nayak of Kalahandi district and Lakshmidhar Mohapatra of Digapahandi in Ganjam district - for their contribution to promotion and propagation of tribal and folk art forms respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik, said, “I appreciate the efforts of IPCA for providing a platform to our artists to explore their creative imagination. I wish this endeavor all success.”

Rabi Das, a brass artist, said, “This is the second time I have been felicitated by our chief minister. Earlier, I was felicitated with ‘Kalinga Shilpi’ award. This is a very good experience for me.”

Among others, Bhubaneswar MP Prassana Patsani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, eminent painter Jatin Das, advisor committee chairman Sitakant Mahapatra and trustee of IPCA Paramita Mohapatra were present during the occasion.
