Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today approved the supplementary budget for the year 2016-17 at a council of ministers meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The total size of the budget is Rs 5,983.08 crore. While Rs 5126.04 crore was allocated for State plan expenditure, Rs 795.98 crore was approved for non plan expenditures.

The council of ministers meeting also discussed the demand for grants of various departments and approved funds.

The supplementary budget will be tabled in the Odisha Assembly on the first day of the winter session beginning December 1.
