Bhubaneswar: The State forest department on Thursday appointed M Satyanarayan as the new chief wildlife warden (CWW) and principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) of the Odisha forest division.

After taking charge, the 1983 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer said there is a need to identify practical solutions to combat human animal conflict and strengthen the relationship between forest officials and the villagers surrounding forest areas.

He further stated the department will now work on developing ecotourism destinations with the active participation of wildlife officials and local communities.
