Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today set a target of bringing down the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) losses of four distribution companies (discoms) to 30%.

In a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary a decision was taken to limit the T&D losses of Cesu, Wesco, Nesco and Southco at 30% by next year from the current average 34%.

Discussions held during the meeting also emphasized on revenue collection and reining in power theft. Moreover, steps will be taken to withdraw electricity connections which are not being used.

Along with the Chief Secretary, the development commissioner, Energy secretary, Gridco authorities and officials of the discoms were present during the meeting.
